Quality Water is Critical for Good Health

Of the 100trillion or more cells in a human being the principal fluid medium of the cell is water, which is present in most cells in a concentration of between 70 & 85 per cent. Many cellular chemicals are dissolved in the water. [1]

“The cell is immortal. It is merely the fluid in which it floats which degenerates. Renew this fluid at intervals, give the cell something upon which to feed, and as far as we know, the pulsation of life may go on forever.” –Alexis Carrel [2]

Water helps to flush out the organs, maintain flow, & assists in alleviating constipation.

Water is the cheapest form of medicine to a dehydrated body. [3]

A minimum of 6-8 glasses a day, more if you drink cafffeinated beverages, and more if you are a much heavier than normal person, such as a football player. If you live or travel in a hot area like Phoenix, you may need 18 glasses a day. Drink till your urine is clear. That is a gauge to go by. It means your body is no longer concentrating urine to retain water. [4]

Do not forget: Dehydration is the number one stressor of the human body - or any living matter. ¾ F. Batmanghelidj, M.D.

Water is a source of energy. One of the ways water produces energy is through hydrolysis. Hydrolysis means the splitting of water into two components: hydrogen and oxygen. Whenever this occurs, energy is released. The energy generated by water helps produce ATP, a compound that stores body energy. [4]

Just as there is solar energy, there is hydroelectric energy. Certain parts of the brain draw most of their energy from water. Neurotransmission is heavily dependent on energy from water. [4]

Whenever you become dehydrated, your cells die. [4]

Water keeps the cell membrane together. You know how ice becomes sticky. If you hold ice, it sticks to your fingers. Water has the same property inside the membrane of your cells, it sticks things together. [4]

The human body is composed of 25% solid matter and 75% water. The brain is said to consist of 85% water. [4]

Dehydration is a primary factor in the producing of disease all over the body. [4]

People are overemphasizing the solids and ignoring the role of water in energy generation and body metabolism. [4]

Water is a primary antioxidant; it protects cells against free radicals and it supplies energy so that the generation of free radicals is reduced. [4]

Dehydration can be the root cause of many complications, including cancer.[4]

It is more important for children to be hydrated than adults. Cells are comprised of approximately 75% water, so it is crucial that children receive enough water so they will grow properly. Their cells cannot grow without water.[4]

You also need the water to rev up the immune system to help fight the cancer.[4]

Non-infectious “recurring” or chronic pains should be viewed as indicators of body thirst. ¾ F. Batmanghelidj, M.D.

It is the responsibility of both patients and their doctors to be aware of the damage chronic dehydration can cause in the human body.[3]

A regular adjustment to the daily water intake in women - particularly when confronting stresses of everyday life - will at least serve as a preventive measure against possible development of stress-induced breast cancer in the age of women predisposed to this problem and prostate cancer in men.[3]

Water by itself is the best natural diuretic. If the persons who have hypertension, and produce adequate urine, increase their daily water intake, they will not need to take any diuretics.[3]

Higher blood cholesterol is a sign that the cells of the body have developed a defense against the osmotic force of the blood that keeps drawing water out through the cell membranes; or the cell membrane and maintain normal cell functions. Cholesterol is a natural "clay" that, when poured in the gaps of the cell membrane, will make the cell wall impervious to the passage of water. Cholesterol production in the cell membrane is a part of the cell survival system. It is a necessary substance. Its excess denotes dehydration.[3]

Asthma is a physiological adaptation of the body to dehydration and salt shortage. It will recur anytime sufficient attention is not paid to regular water and salt intake. Alcohol and caffeine contribute to severe asthma attacks.[3]

This phenomenon of insulin inhibition with dehydration shows that the primary function of the pancreatic gland is directed at the provision of water for food digestion. Insulin inhibition is an adaptation process of the gland to the dehydration of the body.[3]

Insulin-independent diabetes should be treated with an increase in water intake, exercise, and diet manipulation to provide the necessary amino acid balance for tissue repair, including brain tissue requirements. Diabetes is a good example of the next-generation damage that is caused by dehydration.[3]

When the body is well hydrated, all of the physiological and hormonal prerequisites to a satisfying sex life and more-than-adequate libido will be in place. In addition, one or two glasses of water before "the event" will help in achieving a firmer and sustained erection in men and the joys of participation in women.[3]

There is more natural magic in a full glass of water than any medication you are brainwashed to use for the treatment of the conditions I have explained in this book. And I do not sell water!
¾ F. Batmanghelidj, M.D.

Color of Urine: The normal color of urine should not be dark. It should ideally be almost colorless to light yellow. If it begins to become dark yellow or even orange in color, you are becoming dehydrated. It means the kidneys are working hard to get rid of toxins in the body in very concentrated urine. That is why urine becomes darker in color. Dark color urine is a good sign of dehydration.[3]

You should make sure your doctor becomes aware of the information on water metabolism, and your body's other call signals for water, when dehydration begins to alter the body's other call signals for water, when dehydration begins to alter the body physiology. Your doctor is responsible to you and, as your physician, he needs to become informed. It is your responsibility to help your doctor become aware of the paradigm shift. It is now your responsibility to help change the health care system to work for you and not the commercial and political aims of its administrators.[3]

Currently, practitioners of medicine are unaware of the many chemical roles of water in the body. This is the most basic mistake that has deviated clinical medicine. It has prevented medical practitioners from being able to advise preventive measures to offer simple physiologic cures for some major diseases in humans.[3]
