Problems
from Lack of Quality Water
Dehydration, starts to impair a person's
judgment before he realizes there is a problem. Not drinking enough water
everyday is one of the commonest conditions in old age, and although it
has received almost no public
city,
chronic dehydration is a major cause of preventable aging. Some
authorities go so far as to count dehydration among the leading causes of
death in old age. It is certainly an avoidable complication that leads to
many problems.[1]
“The
truth is that dehydration can cause disease.” ¾ F. Batmanghelidj, M.D
Dehydration is one of
the greatest producers of free radicals in the body. And water is the
greatest free radical remover.[2]
The “dry mouth” is
the very last sign of dehydration. The body can suffer from dehydration
even when the mouth may be fairly moist. Still worse, in the elderly, the
mouth can be seen to be obviously dry and yet thirst may not be
acknowledged and satisfied. [3]
Chronic dehydration is a major cause of preventable aging. Some
authorities go so far as to count dehydration among the leading causes of
death in old age. It is certainly an avoidable complication that leads to
many problems.[1]
It is more important for
children to be hydrated than adults. Cells are comprised of approximately
75% water, so it is crucial that children receive enough water so they
will grow properly. Their cells cannot grow without water. I would go so
far to say that giving a child soda and not giving them water is the same
as molding them for suffering from problems with drug and alcohol
addiction.[2]
Studies have already shown that: Arthritis,
cancer, hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, gall stones, cataracts,
glaucoma, loss of hearing, diabetes, obesity, emphysema and more are
directly linked to the polluted water you drink.[4]
According to Dr. Richard Maas, who conducted a health
study at the University of North Carolina, “Bottled” water isn’t
much better than good tap water … several samples were in clear
violation of California’s bottled water standards.
[5]
In addition, a recent study at Northeastern
University found that bacteria breed rapidly in bottled water. These
bacteria cause diarrhea, nausea and other intestinal problems.[4]
Is bottled water better than tap? The federal
government requires bottled water to be as good as tap water, but not any
better -
and bottled water actually is monitored less frequently.[6]
Bottlers, which are monitored by the Food and
Drug Administration, can go more than three years between inspections.
Regular tap water, by contrast, is more closely monitored by the
Environmental Protection Agency. However, bottled water that is certified
by NSF International -
an internationally recognized nonprofit testing and certification
organization -
is tested once a year.[6]
At least 25% of bottled water comes from the same
place tap water does, municipal water facilities. Once the water is
purified, the manufacturer doesn’t have to tell you where it comes from.[6]
The balance of bottled waters does come from
protected springs or wells and is naturally free of disease-causing
microorganisms and chemical contaminants. If that’s the kind of water
you want, look for words such as “spring,” “artesian” or
“mineral water” on the label. The FDA requires bottlers that use these
terms to document that their water actually comes from the source
they’re claiming.[6]
This is supposed to be “natural water,” but it
can still be as full of “junk” as other water.[4]
Water softeners only treat hard water by
exchanging sodium for hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium. The
fact is, water softeners, while improving the cleansing ability of your
water, have no effect on bacteria and do not remove all heavy metals. They
are not meant to purify your water. So it remains as contaminated as it
was before.[4]
You should drink about a gallon of water a day. At
a gallon a day, you could consume about 450 pounds of inorganic minerals
from tap tainted tap water over a lifetime![4]
Heart disease can be caused by mineral deposits in
your body. Cholesterol and the deposits from drinking water mix to form a
deadly combination.[4]
Studies show you may drink over 450 pounds of raw
metal and sediment over the course of your lifetime! The inorganic
materials in your drinking water can never be used in your body.[4]
Just because you drink treated water does not make
it safe. In addition to all the chemicals, pollutants, etc., that are not
filtered out, your water also picks up various materials in pipes along
the way -
including some materials in your own house. Experts estimate that the
drinking water of 38 million Americans is contaminated with lead.[4]
Studies have already shown that: Arthritis,
cancer, hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, gall stones, cataracts,
glaucoma, loss of hearing, diabetes, obesity, emphysema and more are
directly linked to the polluted water you drink.[4]
Dehydration is a primary factor in the producing
of disease all over the body.[2]
The Crypto attack on the City of Milwaukee is a
classic example of fooling around with Mother Nature. Authorities would
have us believe that the bug just showed up on its own, but if we really
get down to the whys and wherefores, we'll find that we created the
environmental conditions that the little bug used to breed.[7]
We pull water out of a polluted stream or river
and drive it along to its destination with centrifugal pumps. This was not
one of our better ideas because aside from being fragile, the crystalline
structure of water is very sensitive to mechanical abuse. The water is
then channeled to an area where it gets its medicine in the form of
chlorine and other chemicals.[7]
In advanced societies, thinking that tea, coffee,
alcohol, and manufactured beverages are desirable substitutes for the
purely natural water needs of the daily "stressed" body is an
elementary but catastrophic mistake. It is true that these beverages
contain water, but what else they contain are dehydrating agents. Children
are not educated to drink water; they become dependent on sodas and
juices. This is a self-imposed restriction on the water needs of the body.[3]
Currently, practitioners of medicine are unaware
of the many chemical roles of water in the body. This is the most basic
mistake that has deviated clinical medicine. It has prevented medical
practitioners from being able to advise preventive measures to offer
simple physiologic cures for some major diseases in humans.[3]
